

After shining like a star in the South Indian industry, Sripada even tried luck in the Bollywood music industry with the Holi Re song from the movie Mangal Pandey - The Rising. Her playback singing career began when she voiced Rahman’s Oru Dheivam Thanta Poove song for the film Kannathil Muthamittal. Following this win, she was introduced to A.R. Sripada participated and won Saptasawarangal, a singing competition hosted by Sun TV. Since 5th May 2014, Chinmayi has been married to Rahul Ravindran. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Madras.

Apart from her mother tongue Tamil, Chinmayi is fluent in English, Telugu, Malayalam, German, Marathi, and Bengali. She even bagged a silver medal for Hindustani Classical Music in 2002. In the year 2000, she was awarded a gold medal from All India Radio for Ghazals. At the age of 10, she had been rewarded with the CCRT Scholarship for Young Talent for Carnatic Music from the Government of India.
